What was the “counsel” they sought to hide?

Thomas R. Valletta

“The Hebrew word sod, usually translated as counsel in the King James Version of the Bible, may also be rendered as secret (see also Amos 3:7). That is, those who ‘seek to hide their counsel from the Lord’ are those who try desperately to hide their secrets, their secret acts from him who sees and knows all things” (McConkie and Millet, Doctrinal Commentary, 1:325–26).
