Why is redemption only in Jesus Christ?

Thomas R. Valletta

“One might look for another redeemer; one might speculate as to other possibilities, but it will be in vain. The Savior was not just the best candidate, he was much more—he was the only candidate. The reason is straightforward: he was the only one of the Father’s children who came to earth with infinitely divine qualities and thus possessed the infinite power necessary to perform the atoning act. Anyone else simply did not have the power and means to overcome physical and spiritual death” (Callister, Infinite Atonement, 331).
