“Mosiah’s translation of the gold plates discovered by the people of Limhi was evidently made available to the people of Mosiah (Mosiah 28:11, 18), and Mormon promises that an account of this record ‘shall be written hereafter; for behold, it is expedient that all people should know the things which are written in this account’ (Mosiah 28:19). Mormon’s son Moroni later abridges the account contained in these records, and his abridgment appears in our present Book of Mormon as the book of Ether” (Ludlow, Companion to Your Study of the Book of Mormon, 192).
