The burden of Babylon,
_which Isaiah the son of Amoz did see.
Lift ye up a banner upon the high mountain,
_exalt the voice unto them,
_shake the hand,
_that they may go into the gates of the nobles.
I have commanded my sanctified ones,
_I have also called my mighty ones,
_for mine anger is not upon them that rejoice in my highness.
The noise of the multitude in the mountains
_like as of a great people,
_a tumultuous noise
_of the kingdoms of nations gathered together,
_the Lord of Hosts mustereth the hosts of the battle.
They come from a far country,
_from the end of heaven,
_yea, the Lord,
_and the weapons of his indignation,
_to destroy the whole land.
Howl ye, for the day of the Lord is at hand;
_it shall come as a destruction from the Almighty.
Therefore shall all hands be faint,
_every man’s heart shall melt;
And they shall be afraid;
_pangs and sorrows shall take hold of them;
_they shall be amazed one at another;
_their faces shall be as flames.
